AV Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technicians will complete preventive maintenance of customer equipment. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting and re-installation of electronic communication systems, including but not limited to video teleconferencing (VTC), audio-video (A/V) presentation, cable TV distribution systems and equipment. The maintenance technician will possess operational knowledge of video teleconferencing with knowledge of operating in federal government work environments. The maintenance technician will possess a working knowledge of how VTC and A/V systems function and will be able to identify critical components of each system. The maintenance technician will be required to communicate system performance to the program manager, engineers and the customer. Other responsibilities include: completing connections of electronics equipment, troubleshooting and testing performance by using tools (e.g. Volt Meter, Ohm Meter, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Multi-meter and impedance Meter) along with interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints. Cable end termination will also be required. The maintenance technician also trains and instructs the customer on the proper use of the equipment. Provide after-hours support and emergency weekend on-call support on a rotating basis. The maintenance technician must be familiar with the following Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) Hardware to include but not limited to: AMX Control Systems, Cisco/Tandberg, Extron, BI-AMP, Digital Projection, Kramer, NEC, Panasonic, SONY, etc.


The candidate must possess five or more years’ experience as an IT Maintenance Technician or must be completing coursework related to a Degree in Information Technology or similar technical discipline. The candidate must have an active Top Secret – SCI clearance, and will be required to successfully pass a Counter Intelligence (CI) Polygraph examination. The candidate must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and will be required to report to any given work location across the Metropolitan Washington region or Metropolitan Baltimore Maryland area during standard operating depending on team assignment. The candidate must be willing and able to bend, squat, crawl or climb 25% of the time and lift up to 50 pounds. InfoComm Certified Technology Specialist (CTS, CTS-I CTS-D) training and certification is recommended. Recently discharged military veterans experience will be considered in lieu of formal technical training

Clearance Required: Top Secret/SCI with CI Poly

Education:  Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or similar technical discipline

Other Requirements: A minimum of five years of experience as an A/V Maintenance Technician
